FFF-U Pick

This month the FFF theme is U-pick each week. My pictures don't really follow a theme, but they are some of my faves from this past week! You can click on the button above to see more FFF's on Hannah's blog.

I'm pretty sure this is NOT how the slip n' slide company thinks kids should use a slip n' slide! In fact it says it's not for kids under 5. But, in true Ben fashion, he was not going to be left out of the fun so he found a way he could join in on his own terms!

I love this big cheesy smile as he waits for his next turn on the slip n' slide. The million dollar water bill that I'm sure is coming is totally worth it to see this pure joy on his face!

These two pictures of Nico are some of my favorites because I almost NEVER get a picture of him not smiling. (I know-it's a terrible burden to have the happiest baby in the world for a son :-)! Seriously, though, any time I look at him he breaks out in a giant smile, so it is very, very rare to get a picture where he isn't grinning.

The two fingers in his mouth is standard-he always does that to put himself to sleep or soothe himself if he gets startled.

I love his serious face in this picture. And I ADORE those big brown eyes. I never need to use photoshop on those big brown eyes because they sparkle all on their own!

Growing up sooo fast!

Nico is growing up much faster than I would like for him to! Just since July 1st, he has started sitting up AND got his first tooth! He can only sit for a minute or two so far, but that is mostly because he thinks it is funny to fall over backwards and have me catch him. The new tooth is in the middle on the bottom, and it looks like the next one over will be through in the next few days. Where has the past five months gone? What happened to my tiny baby????

FFF-U-pick

This week's theme was supposed to be U-pick. I didn't really pick a theme, but decided to just use this non-themed picture of one of my sweet boys.

This is Ben posing in his Guatemala shirt that we found at Fiesta Indianapolis a few years ago when he was a tiny baby. He has grown into it now and is wearing it with pride!

FFF-I love Dad

This week's theme from Hannah's blog is I love Dad. Since my kids happen to have the best dad in the world, it was an easy one for us!

Daddy can do anything-even manage a 2 year old and a 3 month old on his own once in a while :-)

Daddy is cool with hanging at the park and not afraid to be silly in public if it gets a laugh from the little guys.
Daddy shares his love for reading-even if it is reading a Christmas book in May-the same one he has read at least 100 times!
Daddy even risks his own safety and a whack to the head by helping the little ones hit the birthday pinata. (And yes, Daddy did, indeed, get whacked in the head by one of Ben's little friends this year!)

Thanks for being such a great Daddy! Happy Father's Day, Will.

Just a reminder of God's Promise....

This is the view from my yard after the storms passed tonight. Breathtaking! Wish I was a better photographer so I could have done this miracle justice!

Precious Baby Boy

My darling Nico, Mommy doesn't get as much time to write about you or for you as I always did for Ben. Please know that it isn't because we love you less or you are less important in any way. It is just because I have a LOT less time to write while taking care of you and your brother.

You came into our lives a bit sooner than we expected to have a second baby, and I am happier about that than you can imagine. You are a ray of sunshine in every day-no matter how gray it might be. You have the sweetest, happiest smile and you smile more than any baby I have ever met. Whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed or sad, I just have to look at you and you flash me that big grin. After that, everything else seems less important. It is impossible to look at you and not be happy. I wondered before you came if I would ever be able to love someone as much as I loved Ben. Now I know that the answer is a resounding YES. You fill a special place in my heart that I didn't even know was empty until you came along.

My second son, you are special, important, and loved beyond measure! I just wanted you to know.
Love,
Mommy

FFF-Summer Fun Kick off

This week's theme is Summer Fun Kick off. We have had a BUSY kick-off to our summer already! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Ben at one of the two splash parks we've already hit this summer. The boy is a water bug! He LOVES anything that involves water and has no fear of it getting in his face or of putting his head under water. Good for him, but terrifying for me!

This is Nico's opinion on the splash park-he'd rather sleep!
Splash park #2-at the Indy Zoo

Hanging with the Cheetahs

The "official" kick off to summer-my oldest nephew, Tony, is a high school graduate! I am so proud of this kid and the man he is becoming. He has a heart of gold and I have high hopes that he will go far in life.
Ben having fun at the local park with my niece, Belle. These two are like brother and sister. They love each other fiercely and find it their life's mission to see how much they can annoy the other on a daily basis :-)
Nico hanging out at the park. He LOVES being outside!

Nico and Daddy playing at the park.
We're looking forward to so many more fun times at the park, the splash park, the zoo, and lots of other places! I love summer!
