Ben had his four month well-baby visit today. You'll all be happy to hear that the doctor agrees that he is perfect. (Well, maybe she didn't put it quite that way, but....) He weighed in at 12 pounds, 7.5 ounces (between 5th and 10th percentile) was 24.25 inches long (between 50th and 75th percentile), and had a head circumference of 16 inches (which is between 25th and 50th percentile). The pediatrician also got to see him roll over, scoot on his tummy, push his head and shoulders up while on his stomach, smile, coo, and laugh. He really showed off. And then came the bad part-2 shots. He was technically supposed to get four, but this mommy prefers to do less at once, so he'll get the other two in a few weeks. Ben was a little trooper and barely cried at all for the shots. As soon as they were over he was all smiles again.
On a less happy note, Ben's daddy left today for another looooong work trip. We dropped him at the airport shortly after the pediatrician's appointment. Ben didn't seem too concerned (of course, he has no clue how long Daddy will be gone!) but Daddy certainly had a hard time leaving.
