We had a play date at the park yesterday with some new friends. Ben was having a great time and running around like crazy. I was watching him and chatting with my new mommy buddy when I heard Ben say, "Mama? Stuck!" I was watching him the entire time, and he appeared to be trying to climb up on the park bench, so I thought he was telling me that he couldn't get up there when he said stuck. So, like any good mom who wants to encourage their kids, I told him to keep trying and he'd get it. A few seconds later, I hear, "Mama? Stuck!" again. This time I go over to look a bit closer. What I saw had me grabbing for the camera to capture this moment:
That's right! He was, indeed, stuck! He put all of his fingers through the holes in the bench, then when he flexed his hand they got stuck :-) After pausing to take his picture, I was able to get him loose just by getting him to unbend his fingers. It was a totally priceless moment!
He came flying off the end of this slide at a pretty good pace and crash landed in the mulch. He immediately jumped up, cracking up laughing, and said, "Again, please!" with a big grin. I can't believe how rough and tumble he is!
So, how do we go from these sweet, adorable moments to total chaos you ask? Two little words:
Ben learned about pillow fights because we have been reading "If You Give a Pig a Party". I guess he thought the pillow fight looked fun because he grabbed Nico's boppy pillow and threw it right at Tony! I was cracking up the entire time and both the big boy and the little boy had a blast. I LOVE these moments!
